Allah (ﷻ) brings together opposites!
That is the reason why a thing or expression may be affirmed on one level but may be negated on another level!
Truth is one, yet judgments vary.
The acceptability and reality of the fact that expressions and judgments may differ when viewed from different levels is thus revealed.
Understanding this point fully provides the individual with an important gain as well as the discernment and wisdom that are necessary for correctly comprehending the explanations of various matters and speaking and understanding words according to different levels.
Most people find it difficult to comprehend truths or get confused because they have not grasped this point about the bringing together of opposite expressions such as affirmation/negation with regards to different judgments concerning the same truth made from different levels. In the light of these remarks, let us carefully reflect on the following verse and other similar verses:
And you threw not, [O Muhammad], when you threw, but it was Allah who threw that.
(Al- ‘Anfal, 8/17)
